Our deli prides itself in providing the finest in gourmet local produce, supporting Sussex producers and drastically cutting food miles to help the environment. Despite being established just over a year, we have already received awards, being voted 'Best Sussex Food Shop' 2006-07 in the Sussex Food Awards.</p> <h2>Chilli chocolates, beer and oil</h2> <h2>Gourmet Christmas Food Hampers</h2> <p>Are you looking for a special something this Christmas? We provide delicious hampers with a range of the finest foods Sussex has to offer. Tasty, ethical and unique, why visit Marks and Spencers for your hamper when you could be buying high quality, locally sourced fresh food instead and helping your local community?</p> <h2>Helping the environment</h2> <p>We believe you are what you eat, and so we stock only the finest in British food, with much of our food being certified Organic, helping reduce the damage to our environment and cut down on chemical fertilizers derived from oil.</p> <p>Taking things further, we realise the issue of Food Miles is a serious contributor to global warming, and we want to help the public in avoiding the polluting supply chains involved in supermarket shopping. To this extent, we guarantee that our produce will have travelled no more than a maximum of 50 miles from farm to our shop, so you can be sure you're doing your bit to minimise your impact on the climate. In addition, next to every product in our shop we display the distance the food has travelled so you can hold us to our word.</p> <h2>How to find us</h2> The shop is located in the south Lanes. The second shop on the left as you enter the pedestrian twitten of Meeting House Lane from the North Street. The shop operates as a cross between a farmers market and a deli. All the local farmers market regulars are represented in the shop. The shop also boasts a cheese counter, light lunches, homemade soups, pies and Chaula’s curries.
